QUINS has a successful day having all Grades win their Semi Finals with 1st, 2nd and 3rds Grade earning the weekend off and going direct to the Grand Final on Saturday August 16. 4th Grade won their Elimination Final and will play the Preliminary Final this Saturday against the Melbourne Unicorns at 10.30am at QUINS.

st Grade defeated Box Hill 26-7 having led the entire game. QUINS controlled the game well in the first half with sustained pressure and strong forwards play and went to the half leading 19-0. Box Hill came back hard in the 2nd half, and combined with injuries in the QUINS backline the sharp Box Hill backs started to find some space and caused danger blowing a certain try when they dropped the ball over the line caused by a desperate cover defensive tackle from QUINS winger Landres Te Kahu. Box Hill finally did get over the line and looked to be coming home hard, before QUINS settled scoring in the alst 10 minutes and putting the game beyond doubt for a 26-7 win.

nd Grade faced Endeavour Hills, a team they defeated by 50 points only 3 weeks ago - but was this a differnt game. QUINS kicked an early penalty, but for the next 20 minutes it was all Hills as they scored 2 tries and a penalty to lead 17-3 5 minutes before half time. QUINS got one try back just before the half to have the scores at 10-17 to Hills. Endeavour kicked an early penalty but QUINS kept attacking scoring one more try and kicking 3 penalties to win the game 24-20 in a tough contest.

rd Grade defeated Melbourne 21-10 to advance to their first Grand Final in 3 years. Melbourne did all the early attacking, but a chip kick gone wrong by the Unicorns saw Oliva Sialu run the length of the field to score and 2 more penalties added before Melbourne scored just before the half to see QUINS lead 13-5 at half time. The 2nd half was a torrid affair with neither team giving an inch but a driving maul try and another penalty to QUINS saw them hold a commanding 21-5 lead late in the game before Melbourne grabbed a late try.

th Grade defeated Power House in the Elimination Semi Final 11-5 in a hard fought contest. House scored first to take a 0-5 lead but QUINS hit back to make it 5-5 at the half. A tight affair with little running rugby, QUINS kicked 2 penalties in the 2nd half to take the 11-5 win.
