Harlequin Juniors - Round 13 2015
24th Aug 2015
Quins under 18s continued their strong season on Saturday with a 30-17 win away at Shepparton. Despite an interrupted preparation, due to mechanical issues with the bus, Quins dominated the opening stanza. Tries to Trevor, Kale and Jaydon saw Quins open up a 17-0 lead, a margin which could have been greater if Quins had capitalised on their advantages in territory and possession. However, shortly before the break, in their own serious offensive sortie Shepparton showed composure and patience to score a well worked try and make the score 17-5 at the break.
Shepparton then capitalised on Quins' failure to secure the ball at the start of the second half and scored again to make the score 17-10.
A second try to Trevor restored a 14 point margin and secured the 4 try bonus point, but when Shepparton were rewarded for a period of attacking pressure with a converted try, it was 24-17 with ten minutes to go, and the game was anyone's.
However, Quins remained composed for the remainder of the game, with astute kicking pinning Shepparton in their defensive end. Kale then capitalised on two Shepparton penalties to kick Quins to a 30-17 win.
Best players for Quins were Trevor, Kale and Caleb Q.
This week Quins conclude the regular season with a trip to Eltham.
The Quins were ready to go to take on Moorabbin from the very start and we weren't really worried about how the game went.
Moorabbin scored the first try which was disappointing but we bounced back very easily with a try 3 minutes later.
There was a great effort from the whole team but I think Jibril played an amazing game with 2 tries and first try ever. After half time the game fell into our hands, I thought the forwards worked very well together, also Aseri's great ball coming out.
I think we will put up a good fight in the finals with all our team skills!
Total Score: 59 - 5
Jay 2, Jibril first try ever 2, Eugene 1, Charlie 1,

This weekend it was The Quins Blues verse Geelong.
We made some very good tackles and Finlay scored a great team try, I think it was our best game ever even though only seven people showed up.
Although we lost we still won in spirit. We are all very proud of ourselves and know that we can now take on Brimbank.

Quins v Wyndam City
Unlucky guys about the game they were a lot bigger side but we played a lot better than last time we played rhinos. I think that Sammy, Tom B and Blair played a really good game.
Sammy and Blair scoring our two only tries and Tom B who made a lot of great tackles.
Also Sione was a great captain and kept on getting us to not give up. He also set up Sam’s try.
Lets come back and beat them in the finals boys.
