Harlequin Juniors - Round 3
16th May 2015
Under 14 Maroon
We were all looking forward for the clash between Harlequins and Endeavour Hills. At the start of the match it looked like it was going to be a good game. At the start the first try was scored by Endeavour Hills and a goal was converted. Then Quins made a break on the 40 metre line running down the sideline then cutting back and scoring a try. Then the try was converted evening out the scores. Then Harlequins had a penalty, they quickly tapped the ball and passed it out. They scored a try but missed the conversion. After the kickoff Endeavour scored a try but the try was way too easy. Conversion missed. It was a draw at half time.
Then after half time the Quins put up a good fight but the game ran away from the Quins. Endeavour Hills were much more hungry for the win. The score was Quins 12 - Endeavour Hills 36.

On the 16/05/2015 we had a match against Endeavour Hills at their home ground. It started at 9:30. In the first half unfortunately Lachie came off with a concussion. I don’t think we were as eager and we didn’t clean out well enough and that cost us the game. The backs and the forwards weren’t working together well enough. They were a bigger team than us and wanted to win more than us. The score at half time was 21-0 & the score at full time was 36-0. On a positive note there was some good tackling and room for improvement.

We knew it was going to be a tough game versing the bigs of Brimbank and tough it was. In the first half we were struggling to get the ball out of the rucks and were behind 5-7 at half time.
In the second half the we put the first half behind us and played like there was no tomorrow. We scored five tries to the none and ended up winning 36-7.
It was the huge improvement in the clean outs that got us clean ball for the backs and won us the match. This proves that while most of us are small, we still can beat big teams

It's the game we dread but always look forward to. The Quins played very well in the first half, we tried to put what we do at training into the game and we all played very hard but in the end Endeavour was to hard and strong. We should all be very proud of ourselves at how hard we tried and we never gave up. A big shout out to Issy, Blake and Pita for filling in and playing and giving it your all. Harlequins Blue will rise to the challenge when we meet them again.
Go hard boys!!

A wonderful morning after a ‘blizardy’ week! Sun shine, no wind, perfect for a great game of rugby. U 10 did a great job against Melbourne, at Melbourne.
Trys and conversions came thick and fast – well done to try scorers Pita (3), Hugo (2), Laiema (1) and Xavier T (1). Conversions went to Alistair (2), Pita (1) and Hugo (1). Congratulations also to Xavier C, Francisco and Kai for their great defensive play. As always, Clovis and Charlie in the centre made some great tackles, and some good hit ups.
