The day started well with most of the team on time, a big effort considering we packed a cut lunch for the trip across to Hoppers Crossing.

The key message for the day was "TACKLE LOW" and against a bigger Wyndham side that is exactly what the boys did.

The game started with some good and very physical play from both sides and the Wyndham side didn't take a backward step. Neither did Quins. After a number of phases of play with numbers at the clean outs our attacking play was rewarded with 2 tries before half time with 1 converted.

12-0 up at half-time was full of promise and somewhat surprising given the number of points Wyndham had put on the board this season. We knew they would come out firing in the second half and we did to, managing to score another try. 17-0. The play went end to end and Wyndham scored before we bounced back with a length of the field try from Ewan after defending our line stoutly. A number of our boys did their best low tackles of the season.

Our back line was starting to run riot and Taine was setting up some fantastic continuity and quick ball with excellent work at the back of the rucks. This culminated with a sneaky try from the base of the ruck for him.

Both sides scored once each before fulltime and the end score was 29-12.

Overall the best standard of rugby this season so far and the boys, coaches and spectators enjoyed it immensely. Special mention also of a good game from the first game referee and the sportsmanship of the opposition coach.
