The U12A's must be commended for effectively getting themselves ready for the game on Saturday vs Box Hill as their coach was busy ref'ing the previous game. It shows the maturity of the group that they self managed in the absence of direct instructions and did a great job of it.

The game started with Quins unable to get their hands on the ball for the first five minutes but once we did the next 20 minutes was a dominant performance with strong structured forward play and strong running the centres and backs. A particular highlight was the strong support running and speed onto the ball at the breakdown. The result was Quins going in to the half 4 tries to 0 up.

The second half saw the Quins go to sleep on the job. We were sloppy at the breakdown and at times not competing at all. The result was Box Hill dominating possession and territory running in 2 tries. Had it not been for the efforts of making many cover saving tackles there would have been more tries scored. The Quins woke up at about the 18 min mark and ran in another try and then threatened the try line unsuccessfully numerous times to finish the game 29-10 winners.

A great effort from all the boys as l suspect they ran themselves ragged in the 'warm up' that contributed to our nap in the second half!
