All Harlequin teams played finals in 2025, our 1st Grade were defeated in the Grand Final, 2nds & 3rds were Semi Finalists and our Colts (U20) were back to back Premiers. The club provides players at all levels with the opportunity to play to their best and enjoy their rugby – either playing the top grade or the social player looking for some exercise or to meet some people in a new city. New players to the game of rugby are very welcome to come and get into the action.
5 Senior Teams – the club plays in the Dewar Shield Premier Division which is the highest level of rugby in Victoria. Within this division the club has 4 teams; 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade (social) along with Colts U20. The club also boasts a Masters Over 35 years team.
Top Level Coaching – The club has highly credentialed head coaches for all teams and specialists skills coaches working on different aspects of player development.
Physios and Strength & Conditioning – Our rugby focused fitness training led by former ITM Cup and Melbourne Rising player Leo Taliu is supported by the team from Optimus Health who have physio and medical staff at Tues/Thurs training sessions along with match days to treat any injuries or issues that may arise for players.
Playing and Training Facilities – Our main ground gained a $1 million resurface upgrade in 2019 and is graded at elite level- reflected in the club hosting Super Rugby trial matches. It is a dedicated rugby pitch with no cricket pitch unlike many other fields in Melbourne. Players have access to our on-site gym all year round.
Elite Pathway – many of the club members have gone onto Super Rugby, current Wallabies Rob Valetini, Josh Canham, Isaac Adeo-Kaliea and Hunter Paisami along with Fijian International Kemu Valetini were Quins Juniors/Colts with a number of other players in Super Rugby Academies in Australia, NZ and Fiji being past players of the club.
Inclusive Culture, Mentoring and Support – Off the field support is as important as what happens on the field. Harlequins is a diverse club with a strong focus on diversity and inclusivity. We have a dedicated Head of Culture and Player Welfare on the committee – Paris Dale.
Social Environment – we encourage players and spectators to enjoy our unrivalled clubroom facilities. We have meals available on Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as on match days. Our bar is open after training and on match days and throughout the year we have a number of social events.
To be part of the club is very easy and simple – just come on down to training. Training for Senior Grades takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.45pm. For all enquiries, please contact brock.parker@quins.com.au or at 0417 014 971.
